Rubie | Brisbane newborn photographer

I recently put a post out to the social media world about potential interest in in-home lifestyle newborn sessions. To say I was flooded with responses is an understatement! I didn't realise just how popular they would be. With my youngest son starting school this year, my many years of raising kids at home has come to an end - which means 2020 is the year I can branch out and focus more on my business, incorporating more travel and step out of my comfort zone (ie. my studio!) a bit more.

Which brings me to my first ever in-home lifestyle newborn photo session. I wasn't expecting it, but it was love at first "click" for me.

Some of you may be wondering, "but what even is a lifestyle newborn session?" If you've ever had a studio photo session before, you'd probably know that it can be quite posed and structured (which isn't necessarily a bad thing!). A lifestyle session is completely different - I aim to capture your family in a very natural and authentic way, with very little structured posing. And the best thing of all, is that it's in your own home, where you're most comfortable and can be yourselves. Your house doesn't have to be huge or fancy or perfectly styled - trust me, my own home isn't either! But I'm very confident in finding small pockets of beautiful light and making magic with my camera.

Take a look below at some images from my first lifestyle newborn session, done in my client's home this morning at Mango Hill. I was honoured to be welcomed inside and share in these precious moments as a loving couple becomes a family of three.

If you're interested in booking your own lifestyle newborn session, please contact me and I'll be in touch. I also offer studio newborn sessions in North Lakes, Qld, and have maternity packages available too.
