Ondray | Brisbane newborn photographer

This beautiful family came to visit me in the studio today, welcoming their third baby boy! There is a special story behind this session - I like to say that the universe brought mum Emesha and I together one morning at the local playground. I was there with my youngest boy, we stopped for a quick play after walking my older two boys to school. My son had been such a terror that morning and I was already well and truly over parenting (at 8.45 in the morning haha!).

Emesha was there with her youngest at the time, and had just recently found out that she was almost 4 months pregnant - a huge surprise! Although she didn't know for sure it was another boy - she had strong feelings that it was. So we sat there for a few hours while our boys played - I commiserated with her about having a surprise third pregnancy (as I was in that same position 5 years ago!) and about the possibility of having three boys - and not ever having a daughter.

I casually dropped into the conversation that I was a newborn photographer (haha), and we worked out that we only lived a couple of minutes apart. Over the next few months we chatted at school pickup and celebrated children's birthdays, and now here we are! The family welcomed their third beautiful boy last weekend and I was so honoured to photograph them all together as a new family of five.

Ondray's big brothers are just so proud and and loving towards him - it was so beautiful to see them together! What a stunning family they make.

Newborn photos are best done while your baby is still small and sleepy, usually under 3 weeks of age. It is essential to book while still pregnant. If you'd like any more information on my newborn sessions, please contact me and I'll be in touch.

Henry | Brisbane newborn photographer

Meet baby Henry James! Such a sweet little soul, and at just eight days new, he modelled so well for his first professional photos. As you can see below, Henry is a master at frowning - newborn life is so tough! And although he may have inherited stubbornness from both of his parents, he eventually gave in to sleep and we captured some beautiful images.

Amanda | Brisbane maternity photographer

Maternity sessions are always so special, as we spend time chatting about the imminent arrival - who he might look like, what her name might be, family relationships and history. Every client of mine has a different story, and I love hearing them all!

A milk bath was added to this maternity session today, which I absolutely love! Lots of beautiful flowers were used in a gorgeous pastel palette - a definite favourite.

Maternity sessions are best booked for between approx. 32-36 weeks, depending on your health and the size of your belly. I also have a special offer for both maternity and newborn sessions booked together - contact me to find out more!

Pip | Brisbane newborn photographer

Today I had baby Pip in the studio for her newborn photos. At just 8 days old, Pip was super alert and chatty, and just wanted to be cuddled and talked to! With such a big personality already, I have a feeling Pip will be a force to be reckoned with as she grows up - and honestly, you wouldn't want it any other way!

Pip's mum brought in some special items to use as props in her photo session, including a flower crown that was made for her baby shower. I love incorporating personal items into my sessions, as it makes your photos unique and with even more meaning.

Pip also had the most amazing toes - they were almost zig-zagged across, rather than lining up straight! It's these special little features that I love to capture in newborn sessions, because babies grow and change so quickly, and it's so easy to forget all the little things.

Charlie | Brisbane newborn photographer

This morning I met sweet Charlotte, ten days new and just perfection! She slept through almost the entire session, with lots of beautiful moments captured forever for her parents. Newborns change so much in the first few weeks, and before you know it, they are more alert and outgrowing their tiny baby clothes. These early moments are so special and I am always so grateful to my clients for sharing them with me.

Aubyn | Brisbane family photographer

Today I photographed this beautiful family in the studio once again - I've lost count now of how many times I have had the pleasure! This visit was to celebrate baby Aubyn turning six months old. Six months can sometimes be a tricky age, as babies start to develop separation anxiety - Aubyn dropped his bottom lip when I first started talking to him! But we were soon friends again and the smiles came easily.

Big sister Hattie is still adjusting to having a baby brother in the family, although you wouldn't know it from this first photo below! Each family that comes through my doors for photos has a different dynamic, and that's just one of the things I love about working with people. I love building trust with families over the years of photos, seeing personalities grow and change, and capturing all these little moments in a different way every time.

If you'd like to book your own family photo session, please contact me and I'll be in touch.
